A Walk through Keene's History
Keep walking along Main Street. You're heading towards the two final stops on the tour.
Look across Main Street. Can you see a large brick house with white trim?
This building is now the Historical Society of Cheshire County. It used to be known as Ball Mansion. This house was built by George W Ball, a successful businessman. He built it in 1870 in the Italianate style. It is now one of the historical society's buildings. The other building is Wyman Tavern, which you will walk by soon. The Ball Mansion has exhibit galleries, a meeting space, and a library.
