    Continue walking along Main Street.

Coming up on your right is a large red brick building and church. This is Saint Bernard's Church, which is over 125 years old. The first mass held in this church was on November 20th 1892. On this day all the pews were filled with people. Chairs had to be set up in the aisles so that everyone could sit down. The church is located here because Pastor John Power bought land in 1886. This land also includes where St. Joseph's School, a convent, and a rectory are located today.

The church has been renovated and upgraded over the years. One upgrade was the uncovering of a mural. The mural had been painted over in the mid 1900s. It took a lot of work to uncover the original mural.

    Keep going down Main Street.
