A Walk through Keene's History
Intro - Franklin Elementary
Welcome to the Keene Town History Audio tour!
You should be standing on the sidewalk of Washington Street, in front of the parking lot of Benjamin Franklin Elementary school.
We are third grade students here. We've learned all about Keene's amazing history and we want to share it with you.
Let's get going!
With the school parking lot on your left, start walking down Washington Street towards Main Street.
While you walk, we'll briefly explain how VoiceMap works.
It uses your location to play audio automatically, at the right time and place. This means that you can put your phone away now. Don't worry if I'm silent for a while when I'm not giving directions or telling stories. There's a map on your screen if you ever feel lost, and if you do get way off track without noticing, VoiceMap will let you know.
In this tour, we'll talk about lots of historic places. Some are even from before this area was called Keene!
Continue walking along Washington Street, enjoying the beautiful historic houses as you go. You’ll hear from us again further down the street.
