Made in Dundee
18th Century House 3
Some whaling ships brought back Inuit people and would display them in public halls where people would have to pay for admission. For example, in 1890 Captain Adams brought back Chief Inuit Almick from Cumberland Sound of Nunavut. The chief stayed over the winter and declared Dundee very cold.
This was perhaps because the Inuit were only allowed to wear their own clothes and furs while on display to the public; in their host's home and in church they were asked to wear European clothes.
Ok, now retrace your steps back to the street.
