Ramadan at Satwa Al Kabeer Mosque

Take a right here, over the zebra crossing and towards the mosque.

You’ll need to carefully cross over to the other side of the road.

Then keep walking with the parking lot on your left, and Al Kabeer Mosque on your right.

Muslims from around Satwa come to this parking lot to break their fast during Ramadan, which is one of Islam’s holiest months. While the sun sets and the evening Maghrib prayer is called out through the mosque's speakers, people line the parking lot and streets to pray and break their fast with sweet dates and refreshing laban, a yoghurt based drink, before tucking into a simple meal of bread, laban, rice and chicken. In the giving spirit of Ramadan, these meals are often provided for free by mosques around Dubai.

Keep going until you reach the other end of the parking lot.
