Start - Copenhagen Central Station
Hello and welcome to the Copenhagen Monstour.
My name is Thomas and I will be your taking you around Copenhagen today. I have been collecting, researching and writing about the unusual and more unknown sides of Danish history for many years. This interest eventually led me to found the Hiddenmark project, where the goal is to make these historic events, and their connected locations, known to a much wider audience. The tour you've just embarked on is one of the first steps in that direction, so on behalf of Hiddenmark, I am very excited to be here with you.
If you're standing outside the Copenhagen Central Train Station entrance then you're in the right place to start this tour.
With your back to the Station, you can see the Tivoli amusement park just across the road.
On this tour you will be guided around many of Copenhagen's most famous tourist sites, but you will experience them from a slightly different view than usual.
Denmark may not be home to the most exotic animals in the world, but our history is rich with tales of mythic and folkloric beasts, some of which may or may not actually be based on real animals.
In Copenhagen there are many interesting stories of the kind that are relatively unknown to most people, and it is some of these we will explore in more detail on this tour.
Before we get going, let me briefly explain how VoiceMap works.
It uses your location to play audio automatically at the right time and place. This means you can put your phone away now. Don't worry if I'm silent for a while, when I'm not giving directions or telling stories. There's a map on your screen if you ever feel lost and if you do get way off track without noticing, VoiceMap will let you know.
With all that being said, lets get on with the action.
With the Copenhagen Central Train Station behind you, wait for a green light. Then, cross the road to the entrance of the Tivoli amusement park. I'll meet you there.
