    Walls

Continue walking along the edge of the carpark.

Master Builder James of St. George was also responsible for the walls - don't forget this is a fort surrounded by hostile enemy!

There are 21 towers at regular intervals around the walls. Look inside one - they are D shaped with the rounded face outside so to enable arrows to reach anyone attacking the walls in-between.

Another clever defences is that every tower has a wooden bridge at wall walk level. If a section of wall was threatened, they could be removed thus isolating the attack.

As you come out of the carpark, keep following the walls and turn left and pass through the gate. We're going to have a look at the walls from outside.
