Cape Town on Foot: Castle to Slave Lodge
Mutual Heights Frieze
Stop and have a good look at the frieze along the Mutual Heights building on your left. If you look a little higher up you should also be able to see the sculptured heads representing nine southern African tribal groups, the Xhosa, Pedi, Masai, Kikuyu, Zulu, Matabele, Basuto, Barotse and Bushman.
All the sculptural work was carried out by Italian craftsmen, led by Adolfo Lorenzo. The building has been refurbished into residential apartments, in an endeavour to revitalise the city centre.
When you're ready you can continue walking straight along Parliament Street.
