Inside Allston's Music Venues
Hi, and welcome to my tour of Allston's music scene!
The tour begins here, outside the Great Scott. This is a venue that I've had the opportunity to attend multiple times. This small pub is one of the oldest and most well known music hubs in the city, and it's a great hangout for both local bands and bands passing through town on tour.
Great Scott is very easily accessible by public transportation, so it's home to a eclectic and far reaching range of music, from indie, folk, punk, and everything in between. There is no shortage of music here. The bar is cash only, so please remember to hit the ATM if you're going to head inside. There is a machine located just by the entrance when you walk in.
Before you go inside, or if you're keen to get going now, let me show you where to go. Face away from the entrance to Great Scott. Then cross over the wide double-lane avenue in front of you, via the crosswalk. You'll go over some train tracks on your way. I'll meet you on the corner on the other side of the road.
VoiceMap uses GPS to pinpoint your location and trigger the relevant audio. This means you can put your phone away now and relax. I will tell you where to go.
