La Macarena to Parque Nacional
Continue walking with the park on your right.
This is the Parque Nacional, one of the traditional parks of the city.
It was opened to the public in 1934, as a tribute to the 400th anniversary of the founding of Bogotá.
It is very popular with Bogotanos due to its central location. It extends all the way up the mountainside. It has an urban garden and functions as a wildlife reserve in the middle of the city. The Arzobispo river runs through it and is lovely to walk by.
Continue straight. We are going to be turning right shortly to our last stop.
