La Macarena to Parque Nacional
In the Parque de La Independencia
Continue walking through the park, making your way towards the Quiosco de la Luz on the other side. Its the small round building ahead of you to the left.
The development of the Parque de la Independencia was inspired by the themes of world fairs that were a sensation in the early part of the 20th century.
As a result there were many pavilions that made the exhibition. The only one that still stands is the Quiosco de la Luz. It was constructed in the French style and is a re-creation of a structure built for Marie Antoinette at the Versailles Palace in France. It was built by an energy company that was still connecting the city with public, industrial and residential lighting at the time.
Keep making your way towards the Quiosco de la Luz ahead to your left.
