Queen Square on Bath audio tour Walk the Highlights of Georgian & Victorian Bath

If you visited the museum, welcome back.

Now continue walking, with the park across the road on your right.

Queen Square dates from the late 1720s – the Queen, from where the square gets its name, is Caroline, the wife of King George II - and the tall obelisk in the centre was built in 1738 to celebrate a visit to Bath from their son, Frederick. However, Queen Caroline, Frederick’s mother, disliked her son intensely, and he wasn’t too happy with her either, but that’s another story and I'll let you check out that story in your own time!
