Lampasas Walks: Historic Downtown Lampasas
Lampasas County Courthouse
Here we are back at the courthouse and the end of our walk.
The Lampasas County Courthouse is one of the oldest in Texas still in use as a courthouse. The roof is made of red tin shingles laid in a diamond pattern. The original roof was black slate. The courthouse has been restored to its 1883 condition and it was rededicated in 2004. Inside the courthouse is the Southwest Museum of Clocks and watches, which is open from 10-4 on Saturdays and by appointment.
Thanks for joining me today, and I hope you enjoyed learning the history of our town.
