Vondelpark & Old West Neighbourhood
Tweede Constantijn Huygensstraat
Turn left here. Then follow the street for about a minute until you've reached the traffic lights.
The original tower of the Vondelchurch got lost during a fire in 1904. The ingenious construction of the tower helped save the church from destruction because it used a steel ring as a support. The tower was rebuilt after a design by Pierre Cuypers' son, Joseph.
Another thing, next time if you want to stay in central Amsterdam and still enjoy peace and quiet, you need only come to Vondelstraat. The locals run bed and breakfast accommodations here in their 19th century monumental residences.
Keep going. I'll meet you near the traffic lights.
